L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal VoxBox

L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Influenster Voxbox

A couple months ago, I signed up for Influenster, a site where “social savvy shoppers” can stay on top of the latest product news, review products, and receive free products (“VoxBox”) based on their social media presence.

Last month, I received my second complimentary VoxBox – the L’Oréal Revitalift Bright Reveal VoxBox.  It contained a Daily Scrub Cleanser, Reveal Peel Pads, Overnight Moisturizer, and SPF 30 Moisturizer.

It was quite a surprise receiving this VoxBox as I’m only 34, don’t have a ton of wrinkles or major dark spots (…although, it’s never to early to start using anti-aging products).  I’ve have olive toned combination skin with slightly uneven skintone from sun damage and past acne (but after doing my Power of Makeup challenge, I realized that it’s not noticeable).  I haven’t tried many brightening products as I like looking tanned and can easily cover any darker spots with foundation.

My normal skin care routine includes:

  • Cleanser (every morning & night)
  • Moisturizer (every morning)
  • Eye cream (every night)
  • Exfoliator / scrub (2-3 times /week)
  • Cleansing mask (1 time /week)
  • Night cream / gel (2-3 times / week…when I remember)
  • Cleansing wipes (…when I’m lazy or to fix makeup errors)

As I haven’t used alot of brightening/anti-aging products, I didn’t have much to compare them too.  I decided to used the 4 products exclusively for 2 weeks (no other eye creams, masks, cleansing wipes…etc) so that the products were use exactly as intended.

Product reviews and results:

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Brightening Daily Scrub Cleanser

Product Description:  This daily foaming scrub cleanser gently exfoliates dullness to visibly reveal radiant skin. The formula features glycolic acid and Vitamin C paired with natural volcanic particles and hydrating glycerin to help purify skin by immediately dissolving dirt, oil, makeup, and other impurities, allowing active ingredients to penetrate the skin surface layer.

My Review:  This was my favourite product of the four.  The cleanser has a gel-like texture with small particles to help exfoliate and remove dead skincells.  I could definitely feel the grains against my skin but it wasn’t harsh or uncomfortable.  It made my skin feel soft and smooth.  The packaging was perfect as it allowed me to squeeze only a little at a time, and a little cleanser goes a long way.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Peel Pads

Product Description:  This treatment incorporates the dual action of a 10% glycolic complex with the immediate exfoliating action of micro-texturized peel pads to gently resurface dull uneven tone and rough texture to reveal fresh-looking skin and reduce wrinkles over time.  The dual approach, which doesn’t yet exist in the mass market, offers the safest yet most effective chemical peel with a 10% glycolic complex of an at home peel.  Each jar contains 30 textured pads that exfoliate dead cells to renew the skin.

My Review:   The pads in the container have an alcohol-like smell and texture of the acne fighting Oxy Pads I used to use in high school (but the l’oreal pads are double the thickness). At first I felt a bit of a burning sensation after application, but it didn’t bother me, and after a couple days, my skin got used to it.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Brightening Dual Overnight Moisturizer

Product Description:  This dual action night treatment is L’Oréal Paris’ first dermatologist-inspired anti-wrinkle and brightening solution specifically formulated to combine an exfoliating concentrate of Glycolic Acid and the infusion of Vitamin C and Pro-Retinol® in one. The two formulas are combined with one pump of the dual chamber.   The result is a sensorial, yet efficacious treatment that provides brighter, younger-looking skin in just one week.

My Review:  The first thing that caught my attention with this product is the high-end looking packaging.  The product has a nice texture, no strong scent, a little goes a long way, and it does not leave a sticky residue (as many night treatments I have tried do).  1/2 the product is a cream and 1/2 the product is a gel…when you push the pump you get the perfect mix of both.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal SPF 30 Moisturizer

Product Description:  This Brightening Day Moisturizer contains broad spectrum SPF 30 and uses a combination of Glycolic Acid, Pro-Retinol®, and Vitamin C to visibly brighten skin, correct uneven skin tone and reduce wrinkles in just one week. Glycolic acid can cause skin sensitivity so it is most effective when used with a broad spectrum SPF to further protect the skin against UVA and UVB rays.

My Review:  This is a lovely moisturizer and has SPF!  It’s creamy, but not greasy, and sinks into your skin so that you can easily apply makeup over it. 2 small pumps is PLENTY to cover my face and neck, so this product will last you a long time. There is no strong scent and my skin felt nourished and smooth after using it.  The only negative was that it was a little thicker then I like (it feel more like a sunscreen vs a daily moisturize) .

In Conclusion

I noticed that my skin was a tiny bit brighter and my skintone was a little more even after using this collection.  That being said, my skin did breakout slightly after a couple days of using these products.  I’m not sure if that was caused from work stress or the fact that the products (or just the pads) dried out my skin too much, which has in the past has made me breakout.

Am I happy that I received these products?  Absolutely!  Will I purchase these again?  I will definitely consider purchasing the cleansing scrub and may purchase the overnight moisturizer, but am gonna pass on the other two products.

What is your favourite brightening / anti-aging products?   Any great eye creams that I should check out?
